Could it be…winter is loosening it’s grip :o)

For the first time in months there is more ground than snow!  Ben and Devy went out for a long walk with me and didn’t come home covered with mud and snow melt…..woof!

The new 6 week session has begun and even though the buds are still tight the Pussy Willows and Witch Hazel have begun their early show!

A new show “Weird, Wild and Wonderful” will open at the New York Botanical Garden on April 17th – September 27th  go to the following link for more information: https://www.asba-art.org/exhibitions/weird-wild-and-wonderful

Looking forward to warmer days ahead!

Snow, snow, snow!!!!!!

Clearly no class today…stay home, stay warm….the snow seems to be endless…….

Some good news that has nothing to do with being snowed in…. I have been offered the use of the WPA Gallery at Pound Ridge Nature Reserve next December for a student show.  We will have an opening reception and have a great venue to show your lovely drawings and paintings!  I’m very happy to have a place for our winter show once more!  In the spring we will have a spring show at Lasdon that will be open to the public as well.  So start thinking of pieces you would like to put in the spring show :O) (no date yet…sometime in May).

Come on spring…..February can’t last forever…can it?

Come and join us at Kitchawan Farm this summer!

I will be offering 5 sessions from June-August.  We will meet every other Tuesday from 9am to Noon beginning on June 11th and ending on August 6th.  We can sketch the farm as it grows through the season….from the early plantings of June to the full blooms of August.  Kitchawan Farm is a working flower and CSA vegetable farm we will be sketching alongside farmers and gardeners =o)

The end of August we will have an art show of our drawings on the farm.  The show will be opened to your family, friends and to friends of Kitchawan. Drawings will be priced modestly $10-25.00 dollars.  Half of the proceeds will go to support Kitchewan Farm.

If you want to join us at the farm send $125.00 to reserve your space.  This payment will guarantee your place in each class.  There is a limited amount of space, registration will close on June 1st.  People who want to pay on a class by class basis will need to email the day before to  make sure there is room available. Drop in cost will be $30.00 per class. (lauragould@mac.com)
