Margaret Anne Robinson first studied classical painting and drawing from 1950 to 1952 with teachers from the Accademia delle Belle Arti at the Pius XII Institute, Villa Schifanoia, Florence, Italy. Upon her return to New York, she pursued a career as a copyeditor, first at American Heritage Books, and later as a freelancer for Art in America magazine and other publications. Returning to painting in her sixties, she earned a certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration at the New York Botanical Garden and participated regularly in juried botanical exhibitions and group shows around the United States including a solo exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden in 1999. She also exhibited regularly in local shows in Croton and other Westchester venues, and was a published botanical illustrator and member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators. There will be a reception on Sunday, February 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
