Nature Journaling

Summer is here and it’s time to go outside =o) You will need a sketch pad or journal (available in all art stores and at Staples). Bring a fine point permanent ink marker .01, .02 or .03. If you like you can bring color pencils, or graphite pencils. The trick is to travel light. If you want to bring a camp stool for sitting, water bottle, camera….it’s up to you =) You want to be mobil and able to go easily to any drawing area you choose. I usually carry my supplies in a light backpack.

The first Nature Journaling Workshop will be at The Hammond Museum’s Japanese Stroll Garden.
The link below will take you to the museum’s web page where you can find directions and details about the garden. The Hammond Museum has a $5.00 entrance fee.

We will meet at The Hammond on Thursday July 10th from 10am-1pm. Rain date will be Friday July 11th. The Museum Cafe is opened for any of you who would like to have lunch after the workshop.

Each location offers different subjects to entice you =) The Japanese garden offers lovely clusters of bamboo, a pond full of lilly pads and flowers, frogs, turtles and winding pathways. The wildflower garden is in deep shade with a rushing brook lined with river stones, crossed by foot bridges. Muscoot offers fields, stone walls, animals and lovely barns and outbuildings.

Please let me know if you will be attending any of the Nature Journaling workshops…you can either email me or call. Email or phone 914/248-8219
